There is absolutely no better time to reset like the Fall. It feels like the perfect time to sit in some things, realign goals and to dream of new ones. The weather slowly--very slowly in Texas--changes and we dust off the side of the closet we haven't touched in 8 months. So here is to falling in love with changing seasons and being inspired by them. Hence, the return to blogging!
In September I managed to find myself in New York City--post all about my favorite NYC things and traveling with friends incoming soon--with some friends. I also went to the complete opposite side of the country to visit my mom in Washington (state). I also am working on my quarter life crisis goals of running a half marathon. Without further ado, let's get in to it.
Labor Day Weekend
We spent Labor Day Weekend in New York and hit about every single thing on our to do list. Genuinely impressed by us. If you know my roommate in any capacity, you know that she is insane when it comes to itineraries. It is very impressive. We saw Carrie Bradshaw's apartment, the statue of liberty, and Summit 1 Vanderbilt. Had some of the best food in the world at Carmine's and I got to fulfill a long time goal of mine and see my first ever Broadway show! Paloma and I went and saw Moulin Rouge while Aaron Tveit was in it. Watching Aaron Tveit pine for 3 hours probably caused some lasting damage to my understanding of love, but that is something for me to deal with later. We spent about a week here and all I could think is: What if we moved here?
I also accepted a job promotion on this trip!! That's the first time I've been promoted as an adult, so very exciting!!! You can really see the excitement in the picture of me holding my phone.

Bellingham, Washington
Shortly after New York, I hopped on a plane to visit my mom in Washington State. I really do love getting to go visit her out there because it is STUNNING. Everywhere you go, there is beauty. My body truly did not know what to do though. I had just spent a week on the east coast, flew back to Texas for a few days, then immediately went to the West Coast. Pretty sure my body made up its own timezone. The first day is always brutal when I do that, but I adjusted quickly. This trip was relaxing and peaceful, truly. We volunteered at a farm and ate good food. You really can't complain!
On my last day, I took a bus to Seattle to catch my flight and had some hours to kill. So i did what any good tourist would do and took a stroll to Pike's Market! I've been before, but this time was much less crowded, so I really got to do some exploring. I left my luggage at the train station with the ticketing counter and walked about a mile to the market. The only note I would make to anyone wanting to do the same is to be vigilant when walking alone here, I just didn't always feel the safest. But once at the market it was so fun!

Half Marathon Training
This life update will not have any pictures because I will not be documenting my pain, thank you very much!!! But the true story behind this is that I woke up one morning slightly hungover and said to myself "I should run a half marathon before I turn 25." And with that, a monster was born. I'm verrrrry goal oriented, so as I toyed around with the idea and spoke to a few people about the idea, I started to actually think I could do it. So before I could talk myself out, I booked my run for December 15th and didn't buy the insurance. So I'm locked in. Currently I am training with the Nike Run Club app. When I was in Washington I managed to run my first 5 miler and it was brutal. The views were amazing though, so trade offs. Now I'm pretty regularly running 10k!
It's truly crazy what the human body can do. I am constantly in awe of how much of running is truly a mental battle. And also how much of what you eat effects performance. I am definitely not out here setting records, but I am finding out how important it is to feel proud of the little things I'm pushing through when I run. Celebrating really is a big part of the whole experience!
Always Booked
September saw the launch of a new creative project as well! I helped launch a podcast! There are two things that I love very dearly in this world. The first is friendship. I think that is one of the best currency we can ever have. The second is reading. So imagine my JOY getting to talk to some ladies that i absolutely adore about some of my favorite stories ever told. If you are interested in listening, our first few episodes are out! You can listen on any streaming service or watch on Youtube!

September was booked and busy, but I truly wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks for reading!
